647 The second of 9 children, Jim was born to Jack Murphy and Frances Healy in April 1866, Jack was a Boatbuilder, Fisherman, Kenmare Bay Pilot, and Farmer, and Frances a Homemaker and Wool Spinner. Emigrated to Butte, Montana in 1887 at the age of 21. Arrived in NY on the liner City of Rome, 20 May, 1887. Became a US Citizen in the 1894. Married Agnes R. Ryan, a native of Topeka, Kansas, in 1896 in Butte. They initially lived with Agnes's Mother, Mary (O'Rourke) Ryan, and her family at 912 N. Montana St. and later bought their own home at 79 Missoula Ave. (In the 1920 Census it was owned free of mortgage). Worked as a Miner, Shift Boss, and was working as a Watchman for the ACM Co. prior to his death on April 4, 1927. (In the 1910 Census he was also listed as an Agent for an insurance co.). Died at St. James Hospital, Butte, of Myocarditis, Nepritis and Silicosis at the age of 61. Agnes died of Myocarditis on Nov. 25, 1956 at the ags of 87. Jim and Agnes rest in Lot # 3 St. Patrick's Cemetery, along with their son Daniel, and with them also are Agnes's sister, Nan, and brother Joseph.  Murphy, James J. (I623)
